Details
Oval Ceylon sapphires set in a continuous line with diamond spacers, closing on a rectangular sapphire framed in brilliants. Worn open at the throat it reads as one colour; up close the stones are deliberately not identical, because a row of nine perfectly matched sapphires does not exist and pretending otherwise is how a piece starts to look manufactured.

Care
Emerald is softer than diamond and is cut with its inclusions rather than against them, so it dislikes heat, ultrasonic baths and solvents — including the alcohol in most perfume. Clean it with a soft brush, warm water and nothing else.
Platinum does not tarnish. It moves: over years the surface gathers a fine matte patina, which is the metal displacing rather than wearing away, and which a polisher can return to a mirror whenever you would rather have one.
