Ira Sapphire Bracelet

An emerald-cut sapphire at the wrist and a sapphire pear a third of the way round, joined by a pavé line so fine it nearly disappears. The gap between them is the design: two stones on one bracelet usually crowd each other, and this one is drawn so they never appear in the same glance.

Emerald is softer than diamond and is cut with its inclusions rather than against them, so it dislikes heat, ultrasonic baths and solvents — including the alcohol in most perfume. Clean it with a soft brush, warm water and nothing else.

Platinum does not tarnish. It moves: over years the surface gathers a fine matte patina, which is the metal displacing rather than wearing away, and which a polisher can return to a mirror whenever you would rather have one.
