Nine rows of pavé set so tightly that the gold between the stones is under a tenth of a millimetre — from any normal distance the cuff has no metal in it at all. It is the single most technically difficult thing in the catalogue and the reason the atelier will only make two a year.

Emerald is softer than diamond and is cut with its inclusions rather than against them, so it dislikes heat, ultrasonic baths and solvents — including the alcohol in most perfume. Clean it with a soft brush, warm water and nothing else.

Platinum does not tarnish. It moves: over years the surface gathers a fine matte patina, which is the metal displacing rather than wearing away, and which a polisher can return to a mirror whenever you would rather have one.
